HELP NEEDED

The Friends are involved in a number of projects all staffed by volunteers

If you think you can help us in any way please contact us.

SCHOOL VISITS

Sheila’s hard work in designing new publicity leaflets and distributing them far and wide earlier in the year has paid off! We have already had groups from Hillcross Primary in Morden, St. Dunstans in Cheam, Brookfield School (2 visits), All Saints Benhilton and Homefield Prep. School, both the latter from Sutton. The children have been interested and fascinated by what we have to show them and explain to them about life in another era. They also enjoy picnics in the Park.

We have had several stewards new to helping with young visitors and although they found it somewhat different from talking to adults on our public open days, they are doing an excellent job and being given good advice from some of the more experienced stewards. If any other members would like to help, Sheila would be pleased to hear from you.

BOOK SALES

The service wing opens once more in April 2012 and the sale of quality second hand books commences. We need help to assist with setting up our stall on 2nd & 4th Sundays, including Bank Holidays, from April to September, from 1.30pm, putting up six foot long tables and arranging books on same, reversing the procedure at 5pm.

Can you spare a couple of hours, either 1.30pm – 3.30pm or 3pm – 5pm, or better still, 1.30pm – 5pm with a tea break!

Please contact John on 020 8393 8024 – the proceeds from the sale of books is one of our main sources of income for the upkeep, repair and restoration of the service wing.

We would appreciate donations of books from your overloaded bookshelves, or maybe your friends and neighbours would only be too pleased to make some space in their home? If you cannot deliver books yourself, collection can be arranged. Please contact Simon 01372 725 075 or John on 020 8393 8024.
